This pattern was written from an antique baby bib. The hook I used was very small, with a gauge of about 10 stitches per inch. It takes a lot of patience to work with this hook and thread, so when working on this I usually did only a row or two, and then put it down to come back later. On the edging, I misunderstood the pattern, and came up with a different design. I read the pattern again, and decided to leave it as is. :) I finally finished it last night. I am not sure it is really functional, more of an heirloom piece. How would you use it?

These turned out great! Sometimes misreading the pattern lets us come up with some really great results.
I like that the bib is mostly your own given the edging is yours. I've used crocheted bibs, tho I'm not sure daughter would (ah, that makes me an heirloom - fitting). And I love, love, love those earrings - what a great idea!
I never really thought that a bib could be beautiful, but you've changed my mind! That is a stunning design. I don't think I could deal with using it and getting it all messy, though! tehe
i still have a bib very similar to yours (even the color) that my aunt made for me when I was a baby. and what fun to make crocheted earrings. have fun wearing them
