Playtime Overalls
Yes, they are finished! As you can see, I ran out of the variegated yarn, so I put my spin on the pattern with the white bib, red straps and blue buttons. All in all, a success.

Newborn Overalls |
A blog friend recently commented that there are more free crochet patterns for girls than for boys. I noticed this as well, apparently around the same time, and went looking. I found this pattern for Preemie Overalls at Danette's Angels. I made these with larger hooks, a G and an H, and left off the bow tie. These should fit a newborn, and will be donated to my local charity.

Two Taaadahs!
Yarn Stash Shawl |
Cozy Rug |
This is a cozy little rug I made out of a variegated cotton yarn and nylon craft/rug yarn. The pattern suggested 4 cotton strands together, but I didn't want to work so hard! :) It is nice and soft under my feet right in front of my favorite overstuffed rocker.
Please check out my new Sharing page, where I posted all the pictures/ blogs to which I link.

Progress on WIP
The back half of the overalls is done, and the front legs are started. With the other projects I am doing, this is a pretty good pace. I believe this is the second most complicated knitting pattern I have used, so it is going pretty well. I know it will keep a little one warm this fall/winter.

One a Day Again
This is my latest prayer shawl, made from my yarn stash. I crochet a row of half-double crochet in black, and then three rows of a colored yarn in half double crochet and repeat. I have been working on it for about two weeks, so far, with a couple other projects on my hooks and needles. I have about 5 more repeats to go.

Spearmint Candy Cardigan
Front |
Although this little jacket started out with a completely different pattern, I really like the end result. I had some medium sized balls of scrap yarn, left over from other projects. One was a pink baby sport weight yarn and the other was Bernat Baby Jacquards in Spearmint Candy Print. It looked like enough yarn to make the pattern I selected, but when I ran out of yarn, I had none left for the sleeves. So I decided to make the whole thing out of granny squares, and had enough yarn, with a small ball of sport weight white, to make the baby sweater with short sleeves. Luckily, I had started with the 3 month size. :)

More stripes on Prayer Shawl |
The prayer shawl is half way done. I told my friends that I wasn't going to try to match up the stripes, but I find myself doing so after all. :)

WIP Wednesday
I am working on three new projects this week. I am knitting a pair of overalls for a baby, a granny square sweater for a baby, and another prayer shawl, with scrap yarn. It feels good to be able to crochet for charity even when I don't feel very good.

Baby Blue Bubble Suit
Front |
This bubble suit was made in one evening. It worked up really quick, with some leftover baby yarn that is a twist of blue and white, and plain blue for the trim. It is from a free pattern at Miracles Happen.
I think it is called a bubble suit because it was made
extra roomy on the bottom half for the diaper. It is
made for a newborn.

Finished Objects Friday
I finished both projects yesterday early this morning. There was no rush, but since I was almost done, I decided to finish them. The gloves are ones that I made for my sister, and the shawl is for charity. I am glad it was cooler yesterday, otherwise I would not have finished the shawl.
